Introduction

Are you in the middle of a Zazzle store redesign, and want to make your store banner even better? Or are you a Zazzle newbie and just want some ideas for what a store banner should contain? This blog post will help you by showing off beautiful banners by high-level, successful Zazzle sellers. These examples are for inspiration, do not copy them – you’ll only hurt your business in the long run by being a copycat.

Focus on A Collection

Shelby Allison uses a nice big closeup of her Leander Wedding Collection as her main store banner. It is easy to read beacuse the elements are large in the frame, and it immediately tells you that this artist specialises in beautiful elegant stationery and invitations.

The Big Collage

This store banner by Audrey Chanel features a colorful collage of many invitations. Because they are mostly warm bright florals, it doesn’t feel too chaotic – there is clearly a theme, a niche, a speciality. This would NOT work for a store that has huge variance in the products on offer, eg mixing rustic and modern and floral and troical.

That said, the chic dark invitation on the right side of the banner does clash with the brightness of the rest of the designs.

The McDonalds have also employed a collage layout. This one has less images, which lets you see each item more clearly. They also show the tools and technique of how they create their artwork, which really helps in creating a personal connection. You feel like they are really making those flowers, and not just buying stock images.

Close Up For Mood

For her stationery store, Charlotte Hooks has gone with a moody closeup of a wedding details card. We don’t see much, but we do get the gist of what she offers – elegant stationery, understated and formal, with care for detail (literally stated by the close-up on the word ‘details’). This is very clever in my opinion. Also, the photo is beautiful, and stands out against the more standard product photos we’ve seen in other banners.

Niche & Nest also uses a close-up of wedding invitations. But Christopher has chosen a light, pastel pink color pallete, with cozy fabric in the background. That changes the mood to be more intimate and welcoming.

Make It Seasonal

If you’re store is doing well, getting a decent amount of traffic to your specific homepage, then it could be a good idea to change you banner according to the shopping season. Kat Fusinski has given their store a Halloween banner, showing off spooky items like bunting and a tote bag. This will help buyers know you are updating your store frequenly. Therefore you will be there for them, either creating modern designs or answering support questions. Plus, you are showing off the products they are more likely to be wanting at this time of year, making their buying journey shorter and easier.

Amy Marsh has made a Christmas themed banner, with a custom mockup that includes many invitations all together. It looks well made, and I dare say more professional than a series of thumbnails in a row. However, the fact that it’s showing a 2023 label in 2024 is not good. It makes the store already feel out of date. I think the same banner without that text is a better way to go.
