Introduction
Hello friends. Today I’ve got a great freebie for you. It’s a template for making phone cases on Threadless.
This template is based on the existing Threadless template for phone cases: 2000 x 3455 pixels, .PSD format, 300dpi.
I’ve made an important change to this file, however. I’ve added a layer with the area that’s not visible in product photos marked in pink. This is very useful because, without this guideline, your artwork will have unexpected areas not be visible.
Example In Use
Let’s look at an artwork of mine, Support Legend. I’ve placed on a Threadless phone case, with and without a template. Which works better?
Without Template
The art looks good in the image file to the left, but a lot of the wings are cut off when placed on the phone case. There’s no padding at the top and bottom of the artwork either, so it feels claustrophobic.
With Template
Now all of the artwork is visible. Nothing is being cut off the edges or at the hole for the cameras.
