About This Artwork
As an avid Sims player and modder, I thought it would be a fun idea to make a slogan design that was enthusiastic about creators of custom content. Their passion and dedication to the game, to their craft, and to the community, ranges from appreciated to mind-blowing.Â
My recent obsession is the title design for the movie Jackie Brown. I love the retro vibe, the large ball terminals (I don’t get to say that sentence often enough), and the yellow.
So in my design, I wanted to draw on those elements. And do that within the constraints of using fonts that are free for commercial use.
I used the fonts Fette Bauersche Antiqua and Ganton for the design, changing between the two to get the best looking letters from each. For the swashes – the decorative parts of the letters like the descending part of the M – I drew inspiration from images of the fonts used for Jackie Brown. Vital information on this front came from FontsInUse.com
I also studied other fonts like Caslon CP Swash font by Claude Pelletier.
